A Unified Model for Analyzing Comprehensive Behaviors of Deepwater Anchors

Anchors may exhibit various complicated behaviors in the seabed, especially for deepwater anchors including gravity installed (GIAs) and drag embedment plate (drag anchors), stimulating development of an efficient analytical tool that applies to a variety anchors. The present paper introduces unified model analyzing different anchor both clay sand, consisting concepts, mechanical models, procedure. kinematic are classified uniformly as three types, i.e., diving, pulling out, keying. By utilizing least-force principle, properties, such ultimate pullout capacity (UPC), failure mode, movement direction, loss, trajectory, can all be determined by combination analysis behaviors. Applications demonstrated summarily, solving UPC mode piles suction anchors, trajectory single soil layer or layered soils, maximum loss (MEL) embedded (SEPLAs) OMNI-Max behavior Compared existing theoretical methods, this shows strong applicability potentiality properties under seabed conditions.
